Tips for Building Digital Confidence
We get it—technology has advanced so quickly that it can be challenging to wrap your head around how it all works. It doesn’t help that tech is everywhere, too: from paying for purchases digitally to keeping in touch with friends, it’s ingrained in our everyday lives. If you’re looking to sharpen your digital skills, here are five ways to become more tech-savvy.

1. Identify Knowledge Gaps
Before you jump in and start stuffing your brain with all things tech, you should first identify your knowledge gaps. What is it specifically that you want to learn more about, and what do you struggle with the most? Make a list of the specific competencies you want to improve in, and then go through them one by one.
2. Watch Tech Videos
If you're more of a visual learner and don't want to just learn by reading articles, you can also watch tech videos. YouTube and TikTok are great places to start, and you'll come out knowing a lot more than you think.
3. Ask a Friend Who's Familiar with Tech
If you have friends who are already super tech-savvy, don't be afraid to ask them for help. They can give you plenty of useful tips and can offer personalized guidance. And if you don't yet have a tech-savvy friend, go out and befriend one!
4. Learn By Doing
As you read up on articles and watch videos, don't forget that the best way to learn is by trying it out yourself. If you specifically struggle with computers, such as using spreadsheets and word processors, follow along with tutorials by pulling up these applications yourself.

5. Join a Tech Club
If you need extra support, join a tech club! Reach out to your friends to see if they might know of any, or try to search some up yourself. Joining a community will make you feel less alone in your struggles, and you might even be able to do some nifty, hands-on learning.
