Let The Magic Begin
Just starting to get into Magic: The Gathering? This beloved tabletop game has made a resurgence in recent years, becoming more popular by the second. And with so many awesome collaborations, we know you're drawn in by all the cool cards. So if you're looking to get into the game, here are five tips to help you enjoy the starting process.
1. Play With Friends
The best way to get into Magic: The Gathering is to play with people you're comfortable with and feel just as passionate about the game as you are. Playing with friends allows you to freely ask questions, joke around, and treat it more as a casual get-together than a serious competitive experience.
2. Don't Over-Optimize
Yes, we know that winning is fun and building the strongest deck possible can be exciting, but if you're not playing competitively, it can really put a damper on the mood if you beat everyone super easily. If you're just playing for fun, there's no need to create an OP build that'll stomp on your friends.
3. It's Okay To Lose
You're never going to be able to have fun if you're so fixated on winning and feel terrible about losing. How about treating the entire experience as fun rather than focusing on the outcome? You'll have a much better time learning about Magic if you enjoy it as a whole.

4. Try Different Decks
Don't settle on one type of build or strategy when you're first starting out - give everything a try! You'll never know your preferences until you branch out and try different things. You never know, you perfect deck might be still waiting for you.
5. Take Breaks
Each game of Magic could last a really long time, especially if it's a more competitive round. If you go back to back games without resting or taking a break, you might want to tap out a lot sooner. That's why, especially when you're with friends, take a few pauses in between so you get to enjoy each other's company too.
